Renewable Energy

Renewable Energy World's main news page.

The Arizona Goes Solar web site is a collaborative effort led by the Arizona Corporation Commission and implemented by the electric utilities in Arizona. It contains information about Arizona's Renewable Energy Standard, government incentives for solar and wind energy systems,  and upcoming workshops about renewable energy, as well as links to web sites for energy programs offered by all of the utility companies and co-ops in Arizona. It features an interactive Solar Map, searchable by Zip Code, that displays information about the numbers of residential and non-residential renewable energy systems presently installed across the state. The map is not up-to-date, however, as it shows a total of only four residential systems and one non-residential energy system installed in 85611.

The Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch (AWRR) installed two PV arrays in the summer of 2010. An 8 kW system at the headquarters building was designed to produce 100% of that building's usage and a 5 kW system at the bunkhouse provides about 70% of its annual electricity requirements. Photos and real-time electricity generation information are provided by the Sunny Portal web site for the headquarters and the bunkhouse.

The attachments listed below contain information about renewable energy (RE) and links to a variety of local and national resources. The most recent addition (but last on the list) is a USDA report that describes the results of its 2009 On-Farm Renewable Energy Production Survey.
